The physical corner from the Brookwood Broncos closed out his youth football career with another championship. His team only lost one championship their entire run in the GFL and a total of only 5 games from 6U – 8th Grade. Mike was a key piece on that dominant defense. The corner who excels at man and is a nightmare in zone talks about how he wants to be one of the more physical corners in the country and he could very well be with his style of play.
When asked about his best game of the year, Mike brings up the GFL Championships game against Buford, one of the top ranked teams in the state. In the championship game against Buford he played lights out including a interception that he returned for a touchdown to put his team up before going into the half. This spring and summer he is working with the high school, Dash Performance to improve his speed and footwork and also playing his 7v7 with AUG.
Alex Benson of Born To Compete says “Mike is a very physical kid, that is insanely smart. Right now he might be one of the best zone corners in the country. As time goes on and he improves his speed and agility he will be able to play man and stay in the hip pocket of the receiver. He has the ability to become a special player.” Mike credits his teammate and Kenny Baughcum his former youth football coach for his development
