Montrell Henderson is a three time Clayton County Middle School All Star defensive tackle for the North Clayton Tigers. North Clayton won the Clayton County championship this fall 12-0 over Eddie White Academy. Henderson and the Tigers defense led the way in a shutout victory. Standing 6 foot 270, Henderson is a physically dominating player determined to get better at his craft. Raw power and natural athleticism launch Henderson into the backfield wreaking havoc. “I want to learn more techniques to improve my skill”, said Henderson. “I can read the offense well and make plays”. Montrell finished his middle school career with a perfect 9-0 season culminating with the championship shutout.

“Beating Eddie White, it was hard and the most challenging game. They have a good team”, Henderson said. “I had a big tackle for a loss that stood out”. Henderson’s size and strength gives him the edge over most kids his age, but it’s his growing love for the position and techniques that sets him apart. “I’m going to continue practicing even with the season over. Basketball season is approaching shortly but I want to focus on my technique and getting better”. Henderson loves the Alabama Crimson Tide and could see himself playing for Saban’s defense one day. “I love the way they play defense, I love how hard they go on every snap”.

Montrell Henderson has been selected to participate in the Clayton County Middle School All Star Game all three years at North Clayton. His ability to consistently improve and perform at a high level each year has high school coaches excited about his potential. At 6’0 270, Henderson is ready to enter high school and compete at the next level. Blessed with outstanding size and strength, the want-to in learning and improving at the defensive tackle position will push Henderson into a backfield soon.
