WOLFPACK AVDANCE TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP IN CCYFL PLAYOFFS!
What a difference a season makes. At this time last year Coach Aaron and the Wolfpack were making plans for next season. They had just completed a season in which they went winless on the year.
Fast forward a year later and it was a sight to see. Coach Aaron and his team were celebrating a victory in the Clayton County semifinals as they advanced to the next round.
The game wasn’t easy, as a matter of fact it was a B2C Instant Classic. The Wolfpack jumped out to an early lead behind touchdown runs from Player of the Year nominee #1 (Wolfpack) and #5. The touchdowns gave the Wolfpack a commanding 14-0 lead.
Their opponents were the Blackhawks the defending champs in the CCYFL. Just like champions they responded very well. Fighting their way back in the game with a long touchdown by #1 (Blackhawks).
The next Wolfpack drive the Blackhawks forced a fumble giving them great field position. The Blackhawks capitalized off the turnover by driving the ball down the field and bringing the score to 14-12 with two minutes left in the game.
The mark of a champion is to be able to win those close games. With the game on the line and his team needing a first down to win the game, Coach Aaron called on his playmaker #1 (Wolfpack). On 4th and 3 the Wolfpack converted the first down on a QB sweep to the left side, #7 (Wolfpack) threw a key block to spring #1 (Wolfpack) for the first down and with that the Wolfpack had booked their ticket to the championship.
QUICK NOTE: The Blackhawks have nothing to be ashamed of at all as they fought back from a 14-point deficit to almost come back and win the game. Many teams would have laid down and gave up but this team played till the last whistle. B2C would like to congratulate the Blackhawks for a phenomenal effort and great season.
When I asked Coach Aaron what was the difference in this year and last year, he pounded his chest and said that his kids have the heart of a lion. “It wasn’t me, it was the kids that made the plays”.
