Hillgrove pulls off the upset that no one saw coming. A lot has to be said about the QB and Player of the Year candidate Harrison Bailey. The one thing about Harrison is that he is consistent and week by week you know exactly what you are going to get from him. Now he is at point where he has a chance to lead his team to a GMSAA Championship but it won’t be easy as he will be facing a secondary that is very well coached and if they get their hands on the ball, they won’t just bat it down, it will be an interception. Coach Mullins from Mill Creek has to be in consideration for Coach of the Year after his teams performance in the GFL Championship. After giving a 14 point lead and facing a 5 point deficit late in the 4th Quarter he called a perfect drive that resulted in his team winning another championship against a Lawrenceville team that is considered one of the more talented teams in the state. GSA might have been the first team to stamp their ticket to the Frank Ski Bowl as they took care of their business in the YFA Championship. Now the top two teams, the Atlanta Vikings and Central Dekalb Jaguars look to seal the deal with a win in their respective leagues. The two game to watch this week will be Cambridge vs Rome and GA Thoroughbreds vs Jonesboro Gators. Cambridge and Rome head into a rematch of last years championship game in the GMSAA. Both teams are well coached and play with a very physical mindset. If Cambridge gets down early they will still have a chance to rally as this Rome team tends to give up big leads. This will be the best team Rome has played all year since they walked into Hillgrove stadium at the beginning of the season and came out of there with a victory. GA Thoroughbreds vs Jonesboro Gators is going to be a battle. If you love hard hitting football then this is the place to be as both teams understand what is at stake and that is a possible berth into the Frank Ski Youth Bowl. GA Thoroughbreds were able to beat Jonesboro in the first game but that is when Jonesboro and Clayton County decided to split ties and Jonesboro didn’t have a place to practice. Due to conflicts with the county. Now they have no more excuses about being prepared and I am 100% sure that the GA Thoroughbreds don’t care if they practiced in a barn with no lights, they are just looking for the win. Even with Jonesboro deciding to leave for a another league, it is my hope that the powers that be in Clayton County put some support behind this team if they do make the big game. Eventually as adults we have to take ourselves out of the picture and let the kids enjoy their moment because these moments don’t come around often…I will leave my comments at that.

#1 Atlanta Vikings vs Decatur Army
#2 Central Dekalb vs North Henry Tigers
#7 Milton Eagles vs Hillgrove Hawks
#9 Rock Chapel vs Ben Hill Blue
