This has been one of the best years for 8th Grade (14U Division) football. South Gwinnett Comets are proven champions, so are the Sequoyah Chiefs. Central Dekalb and GA Thoroughbreds have been known to have programs that create multiple All American in youth football all the up to college. Then in Clayton County the powerhouse Lovejoy high school has been instrumental in setting a standard in youth football as they continue to be competitive for the state championship year in and year out. So I have an idea, when the season ends how about everybody meets up during Thanksgiving and does a B2C Final Four. Great example would be GA Thoroughbreds vs Sequoyah Chiefs and South Gwinnett vs Jonesboro Gators (Only Champions as of right now from their leagues). Play the games and whoever wins, wins. This way there would be no doubt as to who is number one. Either way until that day happens we will just have to leave it in the hands of the panel. This week is going to be a good one as Shiloh plays what many people consider the best team in the GFL the Grayson Rams. #8 ranked Starr’s Mill lead by two time B2C Player of the Year Rico “The Matrix” Frye will take on his toughest test so far in the GMSAA as they play the #10 ranked McEachern Indians. #7 Jonesboro will have their work cut out for them as they will have their hands full with a very solid Riverdale Blackhawks team
