2013 Frank Ski Kids Foundation Youth Bowl Preview

ATLANTA, GA — It’s that time of year again where the best 12U teams in Atlanta come to Grady Stadium to compete for bragging rights.  The Frank Ski Kids Foundation Youth Bowl has become a staple in the city of Atlanta.  The Frank Ski Kids Foundation embraces youth and their value by showing examples and providing hands-on opportunities to promote optimal growth, self-expression, ingenuity, achievement and learning vital to their ambitions. Through the efforts of the foundation and the help of charitable contributors, observable differences in communities have been made.  Born to Compete has been a partner and official youth sports media affiliate of the Youth Bowl and Frank Ski Kids Foundation for years, and looks forward to another year of great competition.

It goes down Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Grady High School Stadium in Midtown Atlanta starting at noon.  This year, the selection committee chose six teams, all are ranked top 10 in the Born to Compete 12U Georgia Youth Football Rankings.

chargersGWINNETT CHARGERS — Coach Watson is very passionate about his teams and truly believes in his team.  Their slogan “Believe the Hype” has been seen on many youth football fields in Atlanta, as their fan celebrate another charger win.  Overall, the Chargers are a sound team, with a huge defensive line and smart linebackers.  Their leader on offense, #16 Jkori Jones is a great pocket passer, and will pull it down and scramble if needed.

The Chargers have a few more studs on offense, including #28 Christopher Carter, who is the truth up the middle.  The Chargers feel that this is their time for the spotlight and will compete well in the 2013 Youth Bowl.

The Bengals are large, well coached, and physical.  They competed well this year, giving all of their opponents a tough time.  They will have a tough competitor in the first round of the Frank Ski Bowl.

Carolina-Panthers-LogoWELCOME ALL PANTHERS — This team has the complete package.  Speed, talent, agility, and discipline.  Coach Shawn, formerly of the South Cobb Ravens fell short last year in the Born to Compete Championship Series, taking a tough loss to North Henry in the 11U championship game.  He has taken the disappointment from last year, and has used it for motivation the year.

They are a beast on offense, lead by former Born to Compete Player of the Year #9 Trevor Smith.  Their defense is very stingy, and works hard in the trenches.

greshamlogoGRESHAM PARK RATTLERS — The Gresham Park Rattlers have a long history of winning championships, as far back as when the Georgia Youth Football Conference was the only youth football league in the Atlanta area.  #1 Eddie Thomas is the work horse on offense, leading the team in scoring this year.  Another leader on offense is their Tight End, quick off the line with great hands and technique.  He will go up and catch the ball at its highest point and add on yards after the catch.

On the other side of the ball, the Rattlers defensive line is the truth!

uflagsmallCENTRAL DEKALB JAGUARS — Coach Shelley has a great squad, and has went toe-to-toe with some of the best 12U teams in the state of Georgia.  Although the Jaguars has fallen short a few times this season, but are still a very competitive team.  They have a few weapons on both sides of the ball, and will be looking to represent Central DeKalb well.

The Jaguars will be great competition against Gresham Park.
