Top Performers at FSG: Offensive Skill Players

Excluding the QB’s since we already talked about them in an earlier post.  Let’s take a look at the top offensive skill players in this past years Future Stars Game

1.  Amari Daniels – Team Florida (Miami)
7th Grade

Last years FSG MVP came to put on a show and thats exactly what he did, earning him MVP honors and also having one of the best runs in FSG history.

2. James Smiley –  Team Florida (Tampa)
6th Grade

Big strong physical kid for the 6th Grade level.  Played all over the field.  Really put his stamp on the game with two plays.  One was a 10 yard TD run where he carried all of Team GA on his back.  The other was a big time catch that ended up with him racing down the sideline to score a TD.

3.  De’Nylon Morrissette – Team Georgia (Lithonia)
6th Grade

Had a great game at the WR position.  Caught 3 TD passes including the one to tie the game in overtime on 4th Down and easily had over 100 yards receiving. Could have been named MVP for his overall game on both sides of the ball.

4. Andre Stringfield – Team Florida (Miami)
8th Grade

Didn’t touch the ball much but really didn’t need to.  On his limited carries he scored a touchdown and almost had 100 yards rushing.  One of the fastest running backs in the country.

5.   Donnovan Moorer – Team Georgia (Lawrenceville)
8th Grade

Played lights out at WR.  Ran great routes, caught the ball well and had one of the more memorable YAC plays during the game.

6.  Terry Lindsey – Team Florida (Fort Myers)
8th Grade

This player is going to be a star.  At 6ft, 173 pounds with speed he as the opportunity to be special.  Caught the ball well, was primarily used as a deep threat.  Wasn’t given many opportunities to catch the ball but when the ball came his way he made plays.

7.  Johnnie Brown – Team Florida (Tampa)
8th Grade

Big body, 6”1 216 pounds.  Was consistent at running the ball all game.  Ran very well behind his pads and scored multiple TD’s.

8.  Ja’Den McBurrows – Team Florida (Miramar)
7th Grade

Had a great overall game.  Caught a couple of WR screens and was able to show off his speed and get into the end zone.  Was most impressed on the play he didn’t score on.  Caught a WR screen got up field and fought like an animal to try to get in the end zone with three Team GA players trying to tackle him.  Referee didn’t rule it a TD but the play could have went either way.  One word to describe McBurrows is “explosive”.

9.  Joseph “Poppa” McKay – Team Georgia (Columbus)
7th Grade

A big back, 6ft 206 pounds.  Ran well on his first carry as he got behind his pads and came down hill.  Other runs were effective as he carried the ball well and got positive yards.

10.  Laterrell Gibson – Team Georgia (Atlanta)
6th Grade

Had a great game running the football.  Started the game off with an electric run.  Took the ball, stumbled, got hit by the MLB, bounced off him and picked up close to 30 yards around the right sideline.
