Mike Aguirre – Class 2023

Mike Aguirre a Born To Compete All American is an explosive athlete dominating both sides of the ball in the class of 2023. Aguirre is a star running back and linebacker for both Locust Grove Middle School and the 12U North Henry Tigers. Standing 5’10, 170, Aguirre is bigger and stronger than most of his opposition. “I can do everything; I catch, run, and hit. I can do it all, I’m very physical,” Aguirre said.

His 7th grade Locust Grove Middle School team won the championship. “We beat Union Grove 38-6 in the Henry County Championship to finish undefeated. It was a special season, we were dominant; we barely got scored on all year”, Aguirre explained.

He plays with the physicality, the mean-streak needed to be a dominant linebacker at the next level. “We were playing in the playoffs; I was on kickoff and I remember hitting a kid so hard hit helmet came off. I’ll never forget that moment”, Aguirre said. “Linebacker is my favorite position”, he said. “I love to show everybody what I can do on the field. I can use my strength against the ball carrier and use what my coaches taught me. I hit everything I see”. “I want to play middle linebacker in high school”, Aguirre told Born to Compete. Derrick Johnson of the Kansas City Chiefs is his favorite linebacker.

Aguirre is also the starting running back for Locust Grove and North Henry. “I’m a power runner for sure. I run hard every play”, he said. In a pivotal first game with his North Henry team, he stood out against the state’s best Atlanta Ducks 12U. Aguirre kept his team in it late. “I scored two touchdowns against the Ducks in the first game. I played running back mostly and it still stands out to me”, Aguirre told Born to Compete. “They put me out at receiver and they threw it deep to me on a sixty yard bomb. I also scored on a long screen play that broke open for me”, Aguirre explained. “I broke a few tackles and made it into the end-zone. That screen play is one of my favorites this season“

Aguirre has all the tools needed to be an elite player next season for the 8th grade Locus Grove football team. He’s going to get bigger, faster, and stronger this off-season. The intensity Aguirre brings on the defensive side of the ball is also what he’s bringing downhill as a ball carrier. The future is bright for one of Henry County’s best prospects.
