Defensive Player of the Year
Gannon Weathersby
Sandtown Vikings
Came into his own this year. Playing on the defensive line his quickness and the know how to use his hands are easy the best at the 9U Division. Every big game he was the best defensive player on the field. Constantly stayed in the backfield, he terrorized Quarterbacks in the passing game and in the running game he was the main reason the ball carrier couldn’t get a clear view at the hole as he was always changing the line of scrimmage. In his four big games this year Gannon had 43 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 2 quarterback sacks. This is all from the interior of the defensive line. Congrats to Gannon Weathersby for being named the B2C 9U Division Defensive Player for eh Year.
Offensive Player of the Year
Caleb Downs
Mill Creek Hawks
Can do it all, for years he has been dominate. Now with the move from Peachtree Ridge to Mill Creek you were able to all of what Caleb could offer. Very similar to another GFL playmaker Dylan Singleton who played his youth football for Dacula and is now a beast at Archer. Can get it done out of the backfield and also on special teams. Congrats to Caleb Downs for being named the B2C 9U Division Offensive Player of the Year.
B2C Player of the Year
Isaiah Collier
Sandtown Vikings
Sometimes the rich get richer and that is exactly what happened as the Sandtown Vikings picked up the most electric player in their age group. On offense he was everything they could have hoped for. Vikings used him as a Percy Harvin type with jet sweeps and screen plays to make and impact and believe me when he got the ball in his hands 9 times out of ten he was headed to the house. On defense his new nickname was “Pick 6” because overtime he got a chance to intercept the ball Isaiah was doing the best he could to score. Helped make a team that was already great…unbeatable. Congrats to Isaiah for being names the B2C 9U Division Player of the Year.
