AAU Basketball Spotlight: Georgia Pearls

ATLANTA, GA — The Georgia Pearls focus on developing the skills of girls’ basketball players in order to prepare them for the next level.  Founded in 2002 by LADYS,  (Leadership And Development of our Youth in Sports) Inc., the organization continues to grow and give opportunities to young female athletes.

The Georgia Pearls field teams from 3rd grade to 11th grade, and have a 95% retention rate. To date, the GA Pearls have graduated more than 40 players who have received collegiate athletic scholarships to play at the next level.  “Our success is not measured by how many championships we win. Our success is measured by how many players we develop and how many players go on to the collegiate level on athletic scholarships.  That is our ultimate goal!” says Darlene Norris, President of the Georgia Pearls.
