A lot of talk went into the two top teams playing each other but at the end of the day the game would be decided in overtime. For the entire game the Central DeKalb defense would show why they are one of the best defenses in the southeast as they created all kind of confusion for the Blue Devils offense but Fayette County was up for the challenged as their defense answered the bell and came out hitting. At the end of regulation these two teams would go into to overtime to settle a battle that had everyone at the game on their feet.
In overtime CD would lean heavily on #4 as he bullied his way down to the goaline. Then on 4th down CD would call #5 to get them into the end zone as he ran behind a hug hole provided for him by #58.
When Fayette got the ball everyone knew that #1 was going to have to make the play for the Blue Devils to win the game. On second down he rolled to the right and just overthrew his open receiver by hair. On third down they completed a swing pass to #22 who caught the ball and looked to score a TD but was hit by the corner who would knock the runner down at the 3-yard line. On the following play the Fayette County Blue Devils called on #1 again and he would roll left on a QB sweep and would be tackled one yard short as he stretched out the ball over the goaline only for his knee to have already been down.
The #1 ranked CD Jags would go on to continue their winning ways as they won the game 6-0.
