Druw Jones – Class 2022

Class of 2022 standout Druw Jones continues to shine with the 6-4-3 DP Cougars 14U baseball program out of Marietta. The center fielder was named B2C Player of the Game after leading his team to the Triple Crown Sports North Atlanta Open Championship in early May. Jones roped a two RBI walk-off double in the bottom of the 7th to lift 6-4-3 to victory over the Georgia Jackets 8-7 in the championship game. Jones is the son of Atlanta Braves great Andruw Jones. He currently attends the Wesleyan School in Norcross, Georgia.

Jones attended the Perfect Game showcase to show off his talents. He ran the 60 time in 7.02 and his throw from the outfield clocked 81 mph velocity. Jones has the dynamic ability to be a threat offensively and defensively. “In a game against Elite Squad Prime out of Florida I chased down the ball in the gap out in center. I was playing pull side and he hit it oppo so I had a ton of ground to cover and I made the catch”, he explained. Buy Doxycycline http://advicarehealth.com/doxycycline.html

Starting in CF and batting in the three hole, he’s one of the leaders on the 6-4-3 team. “In the semi-final against the Georgia Bombers in the North Atlanta Open, we were trailing 6-0 in the 4th inning, they hit a pop fly to center field and I threw the runner out tagging from third”, said Jones. The five tool prospect showed off his cannon of an arm gunning down the potential 7th run of the game. 6-4-3 rallied off the momentum of the play to keep their championship hopes alive with a comeback victory in extra innings.

After getting injured in the first inning of the championship game, Jones had to sit for the next few hours due to the discomfort. Like a script out of Hollywood, Jones entered the game in the 7th inning with runners on first and second with two outs trailing 7-6 with the tournament on the line. “He threw me an off-speed for the second pitch to even the count 1-1”, explained Jones. “I knew he didn’t want to throw another ball so I sat fastball and turned on it”, added Jones. Jones crushed a double on the left center field fence to score both runners and win the Triple Crown Sports North Atlanta Open Championship. “It’s a very good organization. We work on development and they’re all about helping the players not just winning games”, Jones said on playing for 6-4-3 baseball.

“I need to continue to get stronger. Work out and just keep getting better, I’m practicing twice a week and playing in tournaments”, explained Jones. “I want to play professional baseball. If it doesn’t work out right away after high school I’m going to go college and keep playing ball”, he added.

As Alex of Born To Compete says “When you watch him play you can tell automatically he is a special athlete.  As time goes on and he continues to develop his baseball skills I wouldn’t be shocked to see him end up in the first round of the draft”.
