Georgia Supreme Athletics is a youth football powerhouse playing out of Banneker High School in south Fulton County. GSA founded in 2010 by President Coach Robert Golden. The Gladiators hit the field in full stride in 2011. GSA teams range from 4U to 11U in the Youth Football Alliance league in addition to their middle school feeder program known as the Banneker Jr Trojans in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade that competes in GMSAA. Both the 7U and 9U will compete in the YFA Select Division this fall against the best teams in metro Atlanta. Coach Robert Golden started GSA back in 2010 and has personally led three teams to YFA Championships in 2012, 2013, and 2014. “All of our teams teach the four Ds: discipline, dedication, determination, and desire”, explained Coach Golden. “We feel it makes you a better athlete, a better student, and most importantly a better young man. We want to be more than a great football program. We’re in this to make them better young men”, he added.
“2017 was only our year that none of our teams won a championship since we started”, explained Coach Golden. “Two of our teams the 6U and 8U made it deep into the playoffs in the semifinals. They’ll be loaded again this year. I expect us to compete for championships this fall.” he added. “All of our teams teach the game the same way. We all run some version of a power offense but several teams have a spread package. Our terminology is all the same. Our coaches sit in meetings with the high school coaches to get on the same terminology. That way our kids know the same terminology all the way up”, explained Coach Golden.
Georgia Supreme 6U finished 7-2 last year losing in the semifinals. They scored 20 points per game and held their opposition to under a touchdown average behind a stout Gladiator defense. QB Malachi Owens is back to lead the 7U team this fall in the YFA Select Division. The 9U team is also coming off a semifinal appearance last year and is led by star quarterback Justin Murphy. Murphy is a star track athlete that excels in multiple sports. Coach Golden described Murphy as a playmaker with potential to be one of the best players in GSA history.
Georgia Supreme is starting to see their hard work on the gridiron pay off at the next level. Starting football in 2011, their top youth players are making impact plays on Friday nights in Georgia. Westlake standout 2019 WR Amir Spivey helped Coach Golden and GSA win championships during his time in the YFA. “Spivey is a phenomenal wide receiver. He was a special athlete on both sides of the ball for us. One of the best players to come through our program”, said Coach Golden. Spivey is ranked as a three star prospect with multiple divisions one offers.
Former GSA quarterback Carlos “CJ” Dixon is a rising junior with offers from Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. Dixon will be the starting quarterback at Grayson this fall. Dixon helped lead GSA to YFA Championships during his time with Coach Golden.
