In Powder Spring Georgia the best football player in the country in the 2020 class is playing Quarterback for the Hillgrove Hawks. His name is Harrison Bailey and ever since he could hold a football Harrison has been playing QB. Now years later he is in the 8th Grade he stands at 6”3 and weighs 180lbs. Lt’s not forget to mention the pinpoint accuracy, great decision making and cannon arm that is attached to his shoulder.
Last year was a banner year for Harrison as he led his team to the GMSAA state championship game. They would come up short against powerhouse Milton but for his efforts during the season he would go on to become the B2C QB of the Year. After that game he took some tome off and then got right back to work, playing for his 7v7 team. They would win a couple of tournaments and even compete against the high school players and not only hold their own but win some games.
Now he enters his last year of middle school football with every single invidivual award you can imagine. With that being said when you talk to him he will let you know that his focus is solely on winning the GMSAA 8th Grade championship. It won’t be easy as he has some teams in his way that are very good including defending GMSAA champs Milton, McEachern, Campbell and we can even throw Rome in there as they might not be in their classification but they still have to play them.
So how good can this signal caller be? No one actually knows because we haven’t had a chance to see him play in a high school game yet but we do know that based of of his ability and work ethic he has the chance to be a special player at the Quarterback position. First test will come this Saturday as he takes on one of the most physical teams in the country, the Rome Wolves. They have Nick Burge at RB/LB and the #1 Lineman in the state Aidan Gaines down in the trenches on offense and defense but just like always Harrison Bailey is up for the challenge.
