Ivan Kynes is one of the strongest and most talented linemen in the class of 2024. Known to many as “the Mauler’, Kynes protects his quarterback’s blindside as the 11U Atlanta Bulldog’s starting left tackle. In addition, he also wreaks havoc up front on the defensive line. Starting both sides of the ball, Kynes is a leader for ABA delivering body blows every snap. Standing 5’8, 225lb, Kynes comes through the ball with force unseen at this level. His physicality at the point of attack knocks his opposition backwards. “My height, my foot-work, and my strength are my biggest assets”, Kynes told Born to Compete. Kynes is a play-maker all over the field. His blocking ability is at a very high level for his age group. His aggressiveness up front moves defenders out of the way with ease.
Kynes also stands out defensively just as much as he does on offense. “I made a sack against the Miami Garden Ravens; it’s definitely one of my favorite plays this season. I remember coming off the line beating the left tackle and making the sack”, Kynes said. Beating his opposition off the line is the norm for him. “On offense I remember I opened a gigantic hole for my running back. I ran over the defender and set up a huge play for the offense”.
Kynes learns from watching the game’s best. “I love to watch Tyrone Smith play for the Cowboys. The way he protects Dak in the pocket is how I want to be on the field”, said Kynes. The early resemblance from Kynes to the Pro Bowl left tackle is noticeable in the way he performs on the field.
The young talented lineman has the potential to be a star moving forward. “I’m going to do a lot of work on my own this off season. I’m going to start running around the block in the mornings,” Kynes said. “My goals for next year are to win the league championship and B2C Championships”, he added. Kynes will get bigger, stronger, and more skilled heading into his 12U season. The sky is the limit.
