WEST MIRAMAR, FL — The Miramar Optimist Football program has been a stronghold in the West Miramar community for the past twelve years. The program provides its residents with an alternative choice in youth sports besides just soccer and baseball. The football program starts at Pee-Wee and continues to age 14, focusing on teaching fundamentals and smash mouth football.
Since 2000, the West Miramar Football program has been member of the South Florida Youth Football League (SFYFL) and has experienced a lot of success and continues to be one of the premier organizations that South Florida has to offer. Through the good and bad times, the program continues to push forward with providing its residents with a social and competitive environment that embodies sportsmanship, excellence and perseverance.
Currently, the Miramar Optimist Football program is a proud member of the Miami Xtreme Football League. As a football program that pride itself in striving for excellence, the Xtreme League provides a favorable environment where competitiveness and professionalism coincide. Also, the Xtreme league is affiliated with the Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance.
According to Kenol Thomas, the Commissioner of the organization, “The Miramar Optimist Football program has already begun the 2013 season with profound excitement and enthusiasm in promoting a favorable environment where competitiveness and professionalism coincide.” Kenol adds, “Proactive measures are put into place to enhance the overall program experience as well as ensure open communications between the organization, committee, coaches and participants.
