Reggie “RJ” Johnson III is the leader of the 12U North Henry Tigers (6-1), the #4 team in the latest Born To Compete rankings. The 5’9, 145 pound Quarterback and Strong Safety dominates on both sides of the ball. RJ is a dual threat QB with big time arm talent on display each weekend. When he’s not scoring touchdowns he’s delivering punishment with big hits on the defensive side of the ball. A crucial player on the roster, Johnson’s North Henry team is having a tremendous season outscoring their opponents by a margin of 229-18 in seven games. An early setback has paved the way for RJ Johnson’s goal of winning the championship and moving on to the next level.
RJ Johnson is a 3.5 student in the classroom that’s focused on playing football and continuing his education through high school and college. “I want to be challenged academically”, said RJ. “I’ve been a huge Clemson University fan since I was young and I’d love go there to compete on and off the field”.
The most memorable moment of the season for RJ and the North Henry Tigers was the September Showdown with the #1 Atlanta Ducks. “It was the game against the Ducks”, Johnson recalls. “Even though we lost that game I felt we had opportunities to win and it was a learning experience for us”. North Henry led Atlanta Ducks Elite 12-6 early on before a late comeback saw them fall short 18-12. North Henry has responded by winning their next games in dominant fashion.
“I want to win a championship! This is my last year of rec ball and I want to go out on top. I felt we had chances in our loss and I want to win it all this year”, Johnson answered on his upcoming goals. RJ Johnson and the North Henry Tigers are on their way to the playoffs where they feel confident for the second opportunity.
