SEVERN, MD — As I read the email sent to Born to Compete from Coach Cedric Benning of the 9 year old 90 lb “Elite” Severn Seminoles, I began get excited about seeing the start of youth football season! Coach Cedric simply said “These kids can play!”
Severn is small suburb outside on Baltimore that is full of youth football talent and community support. The red and black Severn Seminoles look to make their mark in the world of youth football this season. Coming off of a few huge victories from last season, the Seminoles have been working hard all summer to prepare for a championship run.
Some of their Alumni include:
- Dominique Stewart who attended DeMatha, the University of Massachusetts, and played in NFL Europe
- Chester Stewart who attended DeMatha, Temple, and played in the CFL and NFL
- Mitchell Brown who attended Gibbons and Towson University
- Elijah Thurman who attended Howard University and played in the CFL and NFL
Their accomplishments include:
- 2012 AAYFA American League 80LB Champions
- 2012 “Northwest Bulldogs” Turkey Bowl Champions
- 2011 AAYFA American League Runner Up
- 2011 NG365 “State Championship” Runner Up
