BALTIMORE, MD — Former Atlanta Falcons Cornerback Keion Carpenter has taken his passion for our youth to another level in the DMV. The Shutdown Academy is a development program for boys and girls designed to empower them to reach their fullest potential through the core values of integrity, honor and respect. It is the blood, sweat, and tears of #29, as he spends all of his energy trying to give his athletes the only thing they need, an opportunity to succeed.
On the football field, Team Shutdown developed a reputation for their hard hits and tough play. We have had a chance to see them play, and they are very competitive, and have great community support.
Youth football is the pride of Baltimore. Team Shutdown has now joined forces with two powerhouses of youth football: the Baltimore Stallions and Manassas Mutiny.
The Shutdown Academy Stallions, formerly the Baltimore Stallions, are deep in the younger age groups, especially in the 8U division.
The Shutdown Mutiny, formerly the Manassas Mutiny, are based out of Manassas, Virginia. They are fairly new to the world of youth football, but have made great strides in a short time.
Three great youth football organizations have joined together to make a lot of noise in the DMV. The unity showed by these organizations shows that they are focused on the growth of our youth athletes. Look for more great things to come from the Shutdown Academy.
