Looking To Lead The Pack

Braxton Anderson C/O 2026 QB Rome High School.

For 2026 QB Braxton Anderson it’s been a new challenge stepping into a new place with very high expectations. For Anderson that challenge hasn’t been very difficult because Anderson sets his personal standards very high himself.

“Coming into a new system at Rome I didn’t really know what to expect but it turned out to be really good. I was surrounded with different coaches who helped me improve tremendously.” Anderson says.

Anderson has taken advantage of his opportunities quickly and expects to build on that as the off-season continues.

Anderson has some goals he wants to reach very soon. “My first individual goal is to compete and to win the starting spot. I also want to be the best leader I can be on and off the field”

“Coming into a place like Rome that’s known for winning and has a tradition of winning it helps push me to be better so I can help my team win games.”

When a student-athlete sees a challenge in a program like Rome and allows it to push them into being better, then it’s clear of what kind of athlete a staff is dealing with and it’s something that college coaches love to see in players especially the leader of a team at the QB position.

“There are a lot of expectations put on our team this season. But I expect our team to first go undefeated in the regular season and win a region championship. Then continue that winning streak through out the playoffs and bring home a state championship.” Braxton states.

At many schools, winning a state title is the ultimate goal. The mindset of a leader and a QB is to make guys around him better and to have common goals with the other players and staff. In Anderson, that seems to be the case. Coaches at the next level look for guys just like that.

Anderson speaks on what college coaches would get in a guy like him.

“Something i would want college coaches to know about me as a player and a person is that i am humble and that i am a good leader on and off the field. I excel in the classroom and try to be the best student possible.”

In order to be a successful athlete, it starts in the classroom as a student. Student-athletes must handle their business in both ways to be noticed! One thing that helps to be a potential next level guy is loving the game.

“The thing I enjoy most about playing football is the relationships you build. Whether it’s with coaches or players. These bonds that are made playing football can last the rest of your life My first individual goal is to compete and to win the starting spot. I also want to be the best leader I can be on and off the field” Anderson says.
