Corky Kell Standout Freshman | Day 1

Corky Kell Standout Freshman | Day 1

Day 1 Corky Kell standout freshmen:

Peyton Zachary – WR – Kell

Don’t let the small frame fool you, the former B2C Player of the year nominee Zachary is already a true playmaker for the Kell Longhorns and had a breakout game today in his first high school ballgame, making big catch after catch from quarterback, Bryce Clavon. A quick, explosive receiver who can get down the field, Zachary made a big 26-yard touchdown reception where he jumped over a defensive back to make the tough catch in traffic.  Zachary plays bigger than his size and was a reliable target for Clavon all game, catching 7 total passes for 110 yards in a big 38-23 win. Look for him to continue catching plenty of passes throughout his freshman season.

Tyriq Green – DB – Kell

Another outstanding freshman at Kell, former B2C. Player of the Year award winner Tyriq “Boogie” Green is an instinctive safety with impressive size already for his age. He got some meaningful snaps in his first varsity game against Cherokee Bluff and did a nice job of running down the ball-carrier. He looks the part and he’s a player the Kell coaches are high on.  Look for him to possibly play more and more this fall as he learns and continues to develop.

Zelus Hicks – Safety – Parkview

An outstanding defensive back prospect, the former 8th Grade Under Armour and B2C All American Zelus Hicks already looks like an upperclassmen from a physical standpoint and really flashed at times against Johns Creek in the season opener. He didn’t play all game, but when he was out there, he was easy to notice. He broke up an early 1st quarter pass after delivering a big blow to a receiver and separating him from the ball.  Hicks brought a physical presence which is always impressive for a young freshman. He also had a INT in the ballgame, showing the ability to help cover ground against the pass. He had an outstanding high school debut and he’s only going to get better and better as the season moves along.
