Impressive 2026 Prospects On the Rise
As we move towards week three of the high school football season, we’re seeing more and more freshmen start to step up and make waves in their first season. There are plenty of 2026 prospects to know about and many of them will become household names in the state sooner than later.
Here are a few 2026 prospects keep an eye on over the next several weeks…
Garrison Cantrell – Dacula
It’s never easy to step in and start at quarterback as a freshman, but that’s what Cantrell has been able to do for Dacula this season. Not only did he win the job, but he’s been very impressive through his first two career games. Cantrell has a lean frame but shows impressive arm strength and the ability to throw the ball accurately down the field. He shows poise in the pocket and has no problem staying patient in order to find an open receiver. He throws a nice, catchable ball and has a chance to be one of the top 2026 QB prospects in Georgia over the next several years. Look for him to continue improving more and more throughout the season.
Zykie Helton – Carrollton
It’s rare to find a freshman who can come in and hold his own in the trenches on the varsity level, but Helton isn’t your average freshman. A massive lineman who has a chance to play on both sides of the ball this year, Helton is massive for his age at 6-foot-3 305-pounds and insanely strong for someone in the 2026 class. He’s quick off the ball, he’ physical, and he shows easy D1 potential if he continues to improve and progress. Whether he’s opening holes on offense or closing running lanes on defense, Helton is a promising young lineman to know in Georgia for the 2026 class.
Andre Gianopoulos – Paulding County
An outstanding young running back to know, the freshman out of Paulding County has already made a big impact at the varsity level. In week two against Sprayberry, Gianopoullos showed he’s going to be a force this season as he topped 150 yards and three touchdowns. He breaks a lot of tackles and runs with impressive balance. He’s running like an upperclassmen right now and has a very bright freshman season ahead of him.
