A Strong Mentality Is Key

Cash Watkins C/O 2027 QB Dawson County

For 2027 QB Cash Watkins, it’s about strong mentality and being able to help his team in any way possible on and off the gridiron. This off-season it’s been exactly that by putting all of the pieces together and making everything count.

“My offseason went great, hundreds of hours on the field and off with QBIQ, but the truth to having a successful offseason is, you don’t have to be off the charts, you don’t have to run a 4.4, jump 35 inches, throw the ball 60 yards. I promise you I am not that. You just have to be what those kids aren’t. Determined, and consistent and most importantly willing to work for it, even when you get demoted in the depth chart, or benched in the all star game, or put in the last group at a camp. When adversity strikes, I am the ONE who steps up, and that is what separates me from the competition! I’ve been him. So to the question what i’m going to showcase next season, the answer is CONFIDENCE. When things don’t go your way for QBs who aren’t the most athletic, that’s how you lose it. GATA!” Says Watkins.

Watkins has extremely high expectations, and that’s what you would want from a quarterback.

Watkins says, “What I expect from myself is what I would expect from any competitor in the world, Effort, and Confidence. The best Quarterbacks are simply an extension of the play caller.”

Enjoying the game is one of the most important parts about playing the game. Cash tells us why he enjoys football.

“What I enjoy most about the game, is learning, constantly improving. The game is consistently moving, whether you like it or not. I live for my QBIQ sessions, there is nothing better in the game of football then beating a defense with knowledge, when you are so smart that it is a free touchdown. That’s what I love.”

Cash is far from satisfied and if it’s up to him, he use it is never being satisfied. One thing you do not want in your quarterback complacency, and that’s one thing Watkins will not stand for.

“From myself, I am not where I want to be, but what separates the good from the great is what they do when the wind stops, when adversity strikes. You GOTTA love the work more than the rewards, like i’ve said before, Rewards are slow to come but the work is constant.” Watkins said.

“Today I might be QB1, tomorrow I might be QB4, it’s about who you are when your QB4 that tells you what kind of guy you are. Keep working, and Trust God!”
