Ethan Royal | Quarterback | Class 2027
Clinton, North Carolina is far from the biggest city in the Tar Heel State, but it is home to one of the biggest budding stars in the class of 2027 football prospects.
Ethan Royal is set to enter his eighth grade year at Sampson Middle School. He starred for the FC Boyz 7on7 team in the 15u division this spring, and more recently showed his talents at a summer football game held in Atlanta.
After starting his football career at wide receiver, Royal switched to quarterback where his athleticism and ability has helped him excel.
His traits exceed beyond just being an athlete, though.
“If I had to describe myself in words: leader, athlete, and confident would come to mind,” Royal said.
At the summer football event, Royal impressed many. While he made his name known, he also made the most and enjoyed his time.
“It was a great experience, Royal said. “What stood out most to me was my team’s connection on and off the field.”
“That motivated everyone and made us trust each other on the field.”
In addition to playing in that affair, Royal has spent his spring and summer staying active and adamant on improving his ability.
“I’ve focused my entire off-season in showcases, strength training, and x’s & o’s,” Royal said.
As he prepares for his final year in middle school, Royal seeks several goals – but one stands out more than others.
“My goals for this season are endless,” Royal said. “But a few to mention would be building a strong connection with my team and my coaches.”
“Leading my team to a undefeated season is my most important goal.”
Though he’s uncertain on where he’ll be playing his high school ball at, he’s keen on where he plans to go in his career regardless of where he’s suiting up.
“In five years I will be a five-star recruit having multiple division one offers,” Royal said. “I will be the number one ranked quarterback in my class.”
“I will be nationally ranked in 3 different positions. I will be great.”
For a young player who models his game and admires Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes, Royal is hoping he can follow in his footsteps.
Ethan Royal has been named to the B2C Watchlist for Player of the Year in North Carolina
