Prince Aminu Taking Advantage of Opportunities

For the class of 2028 QBs in the state, one you’ll have to mention at the top is Prince Amari “Mook” Aminu.

Aminu is one of those guys you’re going to hear about week in and week out. When speaking with Aminu, he was very high on last season and opportunity. “Last season was an opportunity for me to display my talents on a national scale against other top talent. Being in that setting I was able to gain a lot of knowledge to help me grow as a leader and command the offense. I led my team down to YNC Nationals in Florida but unfortunately we fell short. The experience I received from that platform was pretty cool and crucial to my growth today.” Aminu says.

All athletes these days have a busy schedule and it’s very difficult to balance even at this age. For athletes like Aminu, it comes off as a natural routine. Aminu’s off-season has been going really well. He’s made time to perfect his craft and working really hard to do so. Aminu has been working out with his new family at Woodward Academy getting comfortable in their system while learning how they operate.

Aminu has been focusing on strengthening his weaknesses everyday, working on quarterback mechanics, and attending classroom sessions with Andrico Hines who’s been training him since he was 8 years old. Aminu has been working with some of the best of the best. He has been doing speed training sessions with Coach Kyle who is the head track coach at Georgia State University. Aminu has also been doing strength training with Coach Skrrt and Outlaw. It is evident that Aminu is ahead of his time in maturity through by his statement, “My biggest thing as a quarterback is “getting comfortable with being uncomfortable” like Coach Hines always tells me.” Aminu says.

Aminu has big plans this upcoming season. When asked about his plans for this season, Aminu says, “I plan to lead my team to many championships, project leadership and make myself and everyone around me better. Individually I’m challenging myself to process pre snap reads faster, working on my poise and pocket presence, and throwing more with anticipation.”

Aminu has a tunnel vision mentality. He’s set to be a top player this season if he continues this mindset. “If I continue to stay locked in I know once the opportunity presents itself for me to step on the field with the varsity guys I’m aiming to break every record possible as a quarterback at Woodward Academy!” Aminu says.

One thing is for certain, if he continues to work hard and remain in the strong mindset he’s already in. Aminu is going to be a force at Woodward Academy.
