“During the off season, I focused on significant areas of improvement to enhance my performance on the field. I was committed to stay in gym, which boosted my explosive power and helped me to continue to be well conditioned. Additionally, I worked a lot on speed through running hills, sprinting, and agility drills, helping me to accelerate more effectively and maintain higher speeds. To further my development, I have also engaged in specialized defensive back training, honing in on my man technique, reaction, and change of direction. My training has payed off tremendously in camps and post season games I have attended this offseason. To compliment my physical training I also dedicated time to studying game film, gaining a deeper understanding for opponents strategies and to cretic plays in which I could have done better. These combined efforts have not only strengthened my physical abilities but also improved my tactical awareness, setting up for a more impactful season.” Cannon said.

Going into this season, it’s been about putting all of that work to the test and seeing the improvement to help the team win. It’s certainly a long season so improvement will take place but since it’s early on, guys can still see where they improved from the off-season to now at the start of the 2024 season.

Cannon says, “I expect to have a great performance from myself each game. You are going to see me make plays, communicate, and have fun when I’m between the lines. As a team I expect nothing new, prove the haters wrong and win the championship. Playing at Grayson their is a lot of people who are against us but we have to block out the outside noice and get to work.”

“What I enjoy most about football is that I get to be physical and make plays to help my team win.”

Having big goals are always important because it gives athletes something to really strive for not only as a team but as an individual.

“My goals for this year is to be a leader for my team and continue to get better and grow as a player. I want to have at least 4 picks and 30 tackles this season.”
