For some athletes, playing multiple sports is what keeps them in shape for the next. Preston Tatum happens to be one of those multi-sport athletes.
“Baseball is keeping me busy this offseason. Spring football is about to start for us and Im looking forward to getting more involved on offense. As a 7th grader my primary roll was on defense.”
However, as a leader on the team, Tatum expects nothing less than hard work and being a leader of the squad, he demands it.
“I expect our team to work hard and compete everyday. Im going to challenge our defense to 3 shutouts this season.” Says Tatum.
Playing the game is very enjoyable for Tatum as he tells us his favorite part of playing the game of football.
“It’s the brotherhood with my teammates that’s my favorite thing about football.”
Goals are also a major favorite role in most leaders in the sport of football and for Tatum he looks to accomplish all of those in his future.
Tatum says, “My goal is to be able to play next level and get a business degree.”
Set the bar high and go achieve it. One thing about Tatum is he’s going to set the standard for his fellow teammates to follow.
Tatum goes on to tell us,
“Football has been a passion my entire life. I started playing for the flowery branch jr falcons when I was 5 years old. The double overtime loss in the super bowl to gainesville at 6u still haunts me. I finally got my revenge during 11u. My first year playing QB for Habersham. We went undefeated and beat gainesville twice.
This year we plan to continue the success we had during our ngyfa days.”
Now if that doesn’t fire you up, then what does?
Tatum says that one loss still haunts him. Though they got the revenge they were looking for, Tatum still allows those things to fuel him moving forward.
Look out for Preston Tatum in the near future to be a name on the rise!
