Nick Kinsey is special on the Football Field and Baseball Diamond

Multi-sport athlete Nick Kinsey from the Minneapolis, Minnesota area is still trying to figure out the road he wants to take in sports.

The class of 2026 prospect excels on both the diamond and the gridiron playing baseball and football. He picked up his first P5 football offer this summer from Ole Miss, and holds an offer from UConn as well.

A quarterback on the field, Kinsey says his two sports went hand in hand this summer.

“They tied into each other because when I went to an out of town baseball tournament, I would try to get to a camp at a nearby college,” Kinsey said.

In baseball, Kinsey played for Northstar out of Minnesota and was named to the PBR Junior Futures Games team which picks the best 15 players from the state. He then played in Atlanta against competition from across the US.

Those experiences in baseball, where Kinsey plays outfield and pitches, have translated to football.

“Being a multi sport athlete helps me in so many ways – building arm strength and increasing  athleticism are two of the main ones,” Kinsey said. “So the one thing I would tell a young kid is to definitely try to play more than one sport.”

Kinsey also traveled with his 7v7 team, the Minnesota Hitmen, in the spring and summer.

Getting reps with that team against other units from across the country was beneficial to Kinsey’s development.

“One thing Hitmen and 7v7 did for me is help me see coverages quicker and compete with national competition,” Kinsey said. “This development really showed at Ole Miss as they were one of the only camps to incorporate a 7v7 session into camp.”

Several days after attending the Rebels’ camp in June, Kinsey picked up an offer from them.

“The Ole Miss camp was the best one I went to all summer,” Kinsey said. “It was well run, I got  a ton of reps and the coaching staff there was great.”

“When I picked up my second offer I was very excited because Ole Miss has always been high on my list of dream schools.”

“Additionally our Freshman class is stacked with talent so creating those bonds and continuing to work with my teammates. I am pretty lucky to have guys like Jabari [Strader] to throw to during training, 7v7, practice and of course during games.”
