One of the most important things about being a QB at any level is improving mechanics and increasing the IQ. For Makyree “Dudda” Cross it’s been a full focus on improving in those area’s and it’s been a success in doing so.
“I have improved on my IQ and mechanics. I’m ready to show everyone my ability to stand in the pocket and make the correct reads to lead my team to victory, also show how I can extend the play with my legs.” Says Cross.
Expectations for QBs are always high, as they should be. In a position like that, it’s very critical to be the “standard setter” for the team, the QB is the leader after all.
Cross says, “My expectations for myself is being a great leader on and off the field and make a run for the state title. I expect me and my teammates to take practice serious and push ourselves everyday. When the game come, it would be easier for us to execute.”
“I love the brotherhood and the fatherhood from my coaches. My parents always tell me it takes a village to raise a child. I’m always willing to learn from all the knowledgeable people around me. Upperclassmen, coaches and everyone who help making me the best version of myself.”
It’s very important to have a family feeling with a team because that can certainly take your team far and that’s a huge part of what makes champions, champions.
“This spring I just want to learn as much as possible. Gain 20 pounds of muscle. As a team I want us to win against archer (spring game). See what we need to get better at and work on it.” Says Cross.
“I just want to say thank you to my coaches, teammates, teachers and parents. They have welcomed me with open arms and I’m truly grateful and blessed. Go Eagles!”
